Digital Retinal Photography

Digital retinal photography allows our eye doctors to evaluate the health of the retina and internal structures of the eye.  This fast, non-invasive testing is utilized to assist in early detection of diseases such as Glaucoma,
Diabetes, and Macular Degeneration.  The imaging is critical to confirm the health of the retina, macula, optic nerve, and other retinal structures.

Many eye diseases, if detected at an early stage, can be treated successfully without total loss of vision.  After capturing the digital retinal images, we store them electronically to provide our optometrists with a record of the condition of the retina and associated structures.  This will allow our eye doctor to detect and measure even
minor changes to the retina and associated structures each year.  Many eye conditions, such as Glaucoma, are diagnosed by detecting changes over time.  Retinal photography is critical in managing these patients.

We have the ability to take an ultra wide field photograph of your retina in our Delta office.  This gives our doctors the ability to see most of the retinal structures without dilating the eyes.
